Why corporate relocations fail, and how we keep yours on track
When an employee moves to Chile, a lot has to happen in a short window: a visa for the whole family, a home in the right neighborhood, schools for the children, and a city where most things require Spanish. Handled badly, productivity drops while your employee fights housing and paperwork, and family dissatisfaction leads to early assignment termination, which costs more than the relocation itself. We have been handling corporate relocations since 2016. You get one accountable provider and a clear view of where every case stands. Your employee gets one point of contact.
How to choose a corporate relocation company in Chile
Whether you pick us or someone else, evaluate every relocation company in Chile against these criteria:
- Immigration is in-house, not subcontracted. Since Ley 21.325 (2022), work and residence permits are filed online from abroad before the employee travels. A relocation vendor that treats the visa as someone else's problem will wreck your start dates. Ask who files, who tracks, and what happens on a rejection.
- One accountable contract. If housing, schools, and immigration sit with three vendors, HR becomes the project manager. That is the outcome you are paying to avoid.
- Family scope by default. Assignments fail through families, not employees. Spouse permits, school placement, and partner support should be in the base scope, not an add-on.
- Transparent reporting. You should know the status of every case without asking. Weekly summaries per employee are a reasonable bar.
- Verifiable local track record. Years operating in Chile, client reviews you can read (our Trustpilot is public), and references from multinationals, not a landing page with stock photos.
- Language coverage for your workforce. Our team works in English, Spanish, and French, which covers most multinational movements into Santiago.
If you are comparing providers for a group move, ask each one the same question: "Walk me through the timeline for one employee with a spouse and two children, starting from contract signature." The quality of that answer tells you everything.
